Heat pumps are a great way to implement energy efficiency in your Washington home. They take the place of furnaces and air conditioners by providing both heat and cool air whenever needed.

Our heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) experts possess high levels of experience and knowledge to install, replace, repair, and maintain your home’s heat pump. If you are considering a heat pump new installation or replacement, or if you are looking for repairs or maintenance, you will not find more qualified and reliable professionals than you will at West Mechanical here in Bellingham, WA, and its surrounding areas.

No matter what type of residential heat pump you are contemplating or have, our experts live up to our reputation.

How Are Heat Pump Systems Different?

Electric heat pumps offer an energy-efficient alternative to furnaces and air conditioners. They work differently than more traditional heating and cooling systems.

Heat pumps take heat from the outdoors and transfer it into your home when our Washington outdoor temperatures dip. Then during the warmer season, they move the heat from inside your home outdoors.

Because they transfer heat from one location to another instead of creating heat, heat pumps are very energy efficient, costing you much less in energy than conventional HVAC systems that burn fossil fuels to generate heat.

Heat Pump Benefits

Energy efficiency, which saves you money year-round, is just one of the multiple benefits a heat pump offers. If you don’t have a heat pump in your Bellingham, WA, home, now may be the time. Our heat pump installation experts will take care of the service for you as well as give you the advice needed to reduce your energy consumption and lower your home’s energy bills.

Another benefit is the positive impact a heat pump can have on your home’s indoor air quality (IAQ). Since a heat pump is simply transferring heat instead of creating it with fossil fuels, it does not contribute to poor indoor air quality.

At West Mechanical, our home comfort specialists only work with the industry’s leading systems and materials, so you can rest assured your heat pump will keep you comfortable for years.

“My wife and I would like to thank West Mechanical for the recent installation of a Mitsubishi Hyper Heat heat pump system at our home on Camano Island. The team of Kris, Tony, Rudy, and Jack did an excellent job. They showed up when they said they would. They informed us as to what they were planning to do and asked our input where decisions were needed, before they proceeded with each step of the installation. They were always polite and cleaned up their work debris each day. The West Mechanical installation and customer service has exceeded our expectations. We will use West Mechanical in the future and would recommend the company to anyone considering a new HVAC installation or troubleshooting and repair of an existing system.

“Excellent service from Colby and Jack installing our Mitsubishi 48K ductless heat pump with 24K, 18K, and 15K wall heads. Both were very professional and efficient in their work, despite challenging weather and logistics. They were respectful to us and our home and took time to answer questions and address concerns. This is our second time using West Mechanical and would gladly hire them again.”

“Brandon was Very thorough and efficient. Had a little trouble getting up our driveway, but he made it.
I understand that there may be a policy for tech's to offer a service plan, however, i don't like to be "sold" a "plan" when i invite someone into our home for a service call. This is not a complaint about Brandon, since he was only doing what he was instructed to do.
I will contact you again when service is needed and recommend you to others.”

“We have a 1994 manufactured house. Everything is 7/8th scale and needs to be upgraded. West Mechanical was vetted by PSE as one of two contractors for installation of a Trane heat pump system. Stephanie excplained all the ins and outs, available financing, and system specs. Ryan & Tony showed up as scheduled and begain demo of the old system, and installation of the new. Aaron stopped by with two surge protectors and to assist with some of the cabinet modifications. Bode Electric did the wiring. The install was completed in less than eight hours. The new system is so much more efficient, quiet and easy to use. Programming the thermostat unit is not complicated. We would recommend conversion to a heat pump as well as West Mechanical for installation to anyone interested, whether new construction or renovation. Additionally, the aftermarket services offered by West Mechanical will facilitate timely and proper system maintenance through the years. The rebates from PSE and Trane were added perks.”
